RESEARCH SCIENTIST/ENGINEER (FULL-TIME)

Job Summary: 

We are a startup company seeking a highly motivated and skilled research scientist/engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and development activities to advance bioprocessing technologies for diagnostic, therapeutic, and life science research applications. This candidate should be detail-oriented, self-motivated and efficient in completing laboratory tasks. Strong communication skills are a must. The candidate should be curious, creative, engaged, and able to work independently and in teams. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and is excited about the challenges and opportunities of working in a startup.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses, advance scientific processes, and improve technology.

• Fabricate prototypes of biospecimen processing devices for functional testing and clinical studies.

• Prepare biological specimens for device testing and evaluation.

• Evaluate biospecimen processor capabilities by applying bioanalytical techniques (e.g. lateral flow assays, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, mass spectrometry)

• Analyze data and interpret results to draw conclusions and make design and process improvement recommendations.

• Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to develop new technologies and products.

• Communicate research findings through presentations, publications, and reports.

• Maintain accurate records of all research activities.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g. physics, chemistry, engineering).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to prioritize competing tasks.

• Ability to work cross functionally and cooperate across organizations to solve problems and manage process improvements.

• Experience preparing data for reports and presentations and experience in technical report writing.

• Familiarity with common software packages such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in working in a startup environment.

• Experience in rapid prototyping techniques (e.g. 3D printing, soft lithography).
